Have you ever wanted to master a skill so severely that you didn’t know how to go about it, you even saw those who are masters at that particular skill and you wished you were like them, what if I told you that I have what it takes become a master at any skill or even language that you desire?
Learning new skills or improving existing skills is an important part of growing and excelling in your career. Showing employers you are proficient with specific soft and hard skills can help you earn promotions, raises, and new jobs.

Well get ready, buckle up, and put on your learning hats.

Passion
The first thing you have to do to master a skill is that you need to be passionate about that skill, It is the passion for the skill or the money that would be made from that skill that would give the dopamine to continue learning the skill even after the cash might not come as quickly as possible. It is those who are passionate about the skill that practice and keep practicing immediately after every lecture, teaching, and knowledge shared.
Other times, small wins could also help to keep the dopamine flowing, This could come from little cash gotten, rewards, compliments gotten from friends like “Young web developer, Oga Business Analyst” etc

The Right Teacher (Tutors, Mentors, Coaches)
I have found out that sometimes it is not that someone is a bad student, they just haven’t found the right teacher, It takes the right teacher to get a student to learn easily and quickly, this also means that you might need to find someone that you want to look like, someone who reminds you of the future that you desire, and by any means get the right teacher and you’ll see yourself learning that skill with ease.

Find Key Leverage Points
Every skill has a shortcut, For the sake of what we are discussing, let’s say that they are leverage points, You don’t need to know everything to succeed, you just need to know the right things and the most important things to become a master at certain things.
Get feedback
Feedback is essential for your professional growth and development. It helps you identify your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges. It also helps you align your goals, expectations, and performance with your employer, clients, and peers.
Be specific about what kind of feedback you want, how you want to receive it, and when you want to get it. For example, you can ask for feedback on a specific project, skill, behavior, or outcome.
Reflect on what you hope to gain, identify the right people to ask for feedback, Prepare the right questions,Take notes on your feedback, Consciously reflect and review, Be willing to accept information with a positive, open mind, Adopt a growth mindset.
Feedback is only useful if you act on it, otherwise you will miss the chance to enhance your professional skills and performance. To make the most of the feedback, you should reflect on it to pinpoint the key areas to work on.

Have the courage to fail at it
If we can’t make peace with ourselves as we are, we never will be able to make peace with ourselves. This requires the courage to be imperfect; requires the realization that “I am no angel, that I am no superhuman, that I make mistakes, that I have faults.
we should think about failure as a step in the process and learn all we can from it. In many ways, a failure that eventually leads us to success was probably not a total failure in the first place. If you don’t have the courage to fail you would not become a master, you have to be willing to do it in front of people who would tell you you don’t know what you’re doing and probably criticise you so badly.

Surround yourself with people who are good at it
You need to be in a community or tribe where every one there speaks the language of that talent, they make it easier for you to keep practicing and they also help you to learn one or two things from the conversation that happens.

This is easier to notice when one wants to learn a new language, the one learning the language in a community where the language is spoken would learn the language faster than someone who is learning the language in another land where the language is rarely spoken.

With these few steps, you can easily get yourself mastering a skill in a short while.
