Adam and Eve Painting by Margaux LaRocque - Fine Art America

I deny the claim that Adam and Eve were black, on two grounds. The first, and most important, is that Adam and Eve were people of myth, and mythical people do not really have colour. The second is that the early Israelites who created Adam and Eve in the imagination, would have thought of them as Semitic like themselves—therefore neither black nor white.

As a white person, I am very willing to acknowledge that the first people on earth were black, and that we are all descended from these early humans.

‘White’ people look beige to me

I’ve a friend that when anyone calls his skin any other thing that black call the other person caramel.

We are all African, as the saying goes, since modern humans evolved in Africa. The division into what we call races is a by-product of our emigration to other places around the world. Race is a modern construct that the ancient people did not have. Adam and Eve are myths, but they would have been represented as looking like the myth makers.

Well Dick you make a good point! Classification probably only started started in the 18th century when Europeans thought they figured out everything in the entire world after soaking up Egyptian turned Greek philosophy and Science?

I do agree that Adam and Eve might be a Hebrew/White myth based on black Egyptian mythology!

Adam and Eve are based on a Sumerian myth

Only one problem all peoples of this Earth have white skin on the sole of their feet and palms of their hands. This indicates the opposite.

Being dark skinned does not mean black unless you’re in a westen mindset

Where can I actually see one of these first people on Earth, who were black? Just curious; not trying to be argumentative in any way, shape or form.

You want a photograph? Africans are black. The earliest “modern human’ remains were found there. Dating other remains from around the globe has proven that every one of us is descended from a single female homind in Africa

Found: closest link to Eve, our universal ancestor
A man who died in 315 BC in southern Africa is the closest relative yet known to humanity’s common female ancestor – mitochondrial Eve

Genetically, the evidence is that all humans were dark skinned until fairly recently.

Evidence indicates that even Northern European populations were what you’d call “black” as recently as about 4–8 k years ago…depending upon their lineage pathways.

Lighter complexions were advantageous in areas with dimmer sunlight, and mutations that disabled melanin production were able to be more consistently passed on to offspring.

🙂

I think we can agree that Sherlock Holmes was white

Do you think as a race we will ever get beyond this.. it’s infantile an cringey… 100 years from now people are going to read this and just shake their heads

Where’s the evidence of this blackness?
