Queen Mercy Atang, The Big Brother Naija Reality Show star popularly known as Queen shared photos from her traditional marriage with her fiance known as David and captioned it “My husband paid in full.”

Previously, we recall that the reality T.V star shared photos of her engagement on her Instagram page where she revealed that her fiance proposed with a diamond ring. She expressed her gratitude to him and vowed to love him “with the depth and devotion of a true Akwa Ibom woman”

This announcement stirred congratulations from her fans and colleagues over the Internet.

However, her ex-boyfriend, popularly known as Lord Lamba who is the father of her daughter, took to Instagram to post pictures, clips and passports of their daughter on the same day Queen shared her engagement news.

Ultimately, Lord Lamba got backlash from netizens who allegedly accused him of being an absent father and a petty man. Netizens questioned why he never posted pictures of the daughter he had with Queen, or ever acknowledged that he is the father of the beautiful baby girl, until the day Queen announced her engagement.

The comedian replied much later. In his defence, he said;

“First of all God knows i sincerely don’t want my child’s face on social media because I don’t want her to get trolled and yes I have the right to do that I am her Father

I see comments of people saying I don’t want to be in my kid’s life,if I didn’t want to claim my child publicly I wouldn’t have been at her birthday party, I wouldn’t have taken her out for play date ,but anyways my interest is my daughter and I will do anything to protect her , myself and her mom are public figures , but she is only a minor .

I HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE TO ALLOW MY CHILD GROW AND DECIDE IF SHE WANTS TO BE IN SOCIAL MEDIA OR NOT .. The fact I have seen children trolled and called names on social media probably because parents are public figures. Me spending time with my child in public ( real life ) makes more sense to me than social media . My child is not a click bait or my craft … I LOVE YOU KAILEH❤️.”

This very response caused different reactions online. Some netizens took sides with Queen while some took sides with Lord Lamba

After the engagement, Lord Lamba took their saga to the court. He sued Queen Atang over the custody of their child. He added that “Nigerians Fall For Pity Cards”.

Regardless, this didn’t halt the traditional ceremony of Queen and her fiance King David from taking place on the 13th March 2024.

Queen wore an Akwa Ibom attire to depict her culture while her fiance, King David wore a regal blue Agbada for his culture as well.

The joyous couple exchanged vows in the traditional ceremony held in Queen’s hometown of Akwa Ibom.

Queen took to her Instagram to share the beautiful pictures from the day’s event, captioning it “My husband paid in full, and Extra.”
