Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor known as Rema trended on social Media on Saturday evening, due to a post he made declaring himself equal to the big 3s in the music Industry.

In a post, now trending online, the Mavin Records signee claimed he is now in the same category with his senior colleagues; Burna boy, Davido and WizKid, who are widely known as the Big 3 in Nigeria Music Industry.

Rema revealed how he wants to be addressed and recognised going forward, considering the rate at which he has been recognised on global stages. 

Previously, on November 14, 2023, the Mavin star made an appearance at the renowned 02 Arena, London where he performed his songs with other Marvin artists. 

His “Ravage Uprising” show performance at the 02 Arena was iconic, it depicted his Edo culture and heritage through the themes in his performance.

Rema’s performance at the 02 Arena marked a historic moment, it stirred up controversies during that period.

However, Rema made  huge accusations to some music labels, following his first tweet.

According to his posts;

“Labels get creative, stop trying to clone me.” Later in the day, he added: “Rema made Afrobeat EP’s a Big statement. Every new artist since 2019 has the same template. Uh oh.” 

Also, In another tweet, he implied stylists disguise themselves to get clothings from brands.

His tweet reads;

“Tell your stylists to stop sending mails to brands with my name to get clothes imma pull up to your show and strip u on stage cuz that’s my sh*t HOEE! fake celebrities, fake industry,” 

His tweets garnered many reactions from Netzens, some took sides with him owing to his global performance while others lectured him on how hard he needs to go to be considered equal with the big 3.
