REVIEW OF THE MOVIE “DOCTOR STRANGE, MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS”

SPOILERS ALERT

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a 2022 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the character Doctor Strange. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to Doctor Strange (2016) and the 28th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

First of all, I’m not a believer of the multiverse, I really don’t think the multiverse exists but let’s just go with the flow.

One thing I learnt from the movie was that we would always need to collaborate, I loved how Wong partnered with Doctor strange to defeat the demon that wanted to kill America

We should all agree that Doctor Strange’s cloak of levitation is the best sidekick, I loved how the cloak of levitation have always found out time to steal the show, from following iron man to space and saving America from the demon even after his master had lost consciousness, if that isn’t loyalty then I don’t know what it is. The cloak even took a shot, I loved how it could become sort of sentient and take decisions that it knows would favour its master.

I also learnt that sometimes our enemy isn’t far from home, it’s funny how the very first person Dr Strange went to ask for help happened to be the very person who was responsible for the damage. Be careful who you share stuff with.

I also learnt that a superior is always a superior for a reason, Wong was the superior sorcerer and for good reason, he tried to make Dr Strange understand this but it was towards the ending that he got to know that Wong was superior for a reason.

Always communicate respect to your superiors, they are your superiors for a reason.

The next beautiful lesson I learnt is that before you take that decision always ask yourself, is this the best decision, because there’s always a better way to carry out a task if you seek for a higher understanding or wisdom.

When America was entrapped and wanted to get out of the glass cage before Wonda got to her, she used her power to break the glass showing that she could have freed herself if she really wanted to.

When Wonda was caged in the mirror dimension, she escaped because she knew there was a better way.

When Strange possessed a dead version of himself, he actually thought it was the best way until Christine had to make him realise that he was a master of mystic arts and he could manipulate spirits as well.

When Strange was asked to take America’s power, but he had to ask America to believe in herself even though America also saw reasons for Dr Strange to take her powers.

When America could have killed Wonda but she decided to show Wonda who was so blinded by her quest that she hadn’t seen what her quest had turned her into, a monster, that singular act made all the difference.

Most times we don’t really see what we become, people who knew us before we changed help to remind us

Lastly, I loved the love profession that Dr Strange made to Christine, he told her that he loved her so much that in all the multiverses all the version of him loved her as well.

“I love you in all universe”

That really sunk deep.

But the question that Dr Strange asked Wong which was

“Are you happy?”

And happiness is free, even though we have gotten our fair share of trouble and challenges, I think it is still up to us to create our happiness.
