Click is a 2006 American science fiction fantasy comedy-drama film[1] directed by Frank Coraci, written by Steve Koren and Mark O’Keefe, and produced by Adam Sandler, who also stars. Sandler plays Michael Newman, a workaholic family man who acquires a magical universal remote that enables him to control reality.
Micheal Newman is a creative architect whose boss takes advantage of but doesn’t promote him to become a partner which happened to be his dream position.
Happily married to a beautiful wife and blessed with two kids, his workaholic nature didn’t allow him to spend so much time with his family until fate made him receive a remote control that could control everything around him, causing him to fast forward to his promotion as a partner, that took him a year in the future, causing him to have issues with his wife (which he couldn’t settle because he was so busy with work) and this triggered the remote to always fast forward to special occasions in his work life (following his preference to always skip to the part where success comes at work)
This movie showed how much youths are willing to do anything to be successful at work, their career, and their profession forgetting how much we should pay attention to our relationships, our physical health, our spiritual life, and even family.
Sometimes we focus so much on our achievements, goals, that we forget to admire and appreciate the process, the relationship around us, little tasks that help us to become better.
What would it profit you if you gain the whole world and lose your soul, your family life, watching your children grow, fulfilling purpose and putting smiles on the faces of people, knowing that your little contribution could go a long way in helping someone become better even though you haven’t become your very best.
This is a movie that I highly recommend to youths who are trying to balance work and life, there are powerful lessons to take from this movie.
