MY REVIEW OF THE MOVIE “ARCANE, LEAGUE OF LEGENDS”

Arcane is an animated series based on the game ‘League of Legends’ this movie is based on two orphan sisters, Vi and powder who were raised by a Barman named Vander who happens to be the leader of the rebellion against a set of rich people known as the Topside in the city of Piltover, Vander who also is responsible for some other orphans; Ekko, Mylo and Claggo.

A former friend of Vander who now happens to be a crime lord named Silco who makes a drug (shimmer) that is addictive and turns people into monsters.

This movie shows you how much destruction ego can cause. The problem started when Vi leads her team to rob a house out of her ego to prove that she could fend for herself, and caused an explosion that the council (government) of Piltover wanted answers to…

The same ego that caused a worker of Silco to attack Vi and her team while coming back.

There was a quote made by Vander to Vi that really got to me. He told her VI “these people look up to you, When people look up to you, you don’t get to be selfish. You say run, they run. You say swim, they dive in. You say light a fire, they show up with oil. But whatever happens, it’s on you.”

He was teaching her how to be responsible for not just people who are following her but people whom she had influence over..

I loved how much Vi believed in Jinx irrespective of how much evil she did, Everyone told Vi that Jinx was beyond repair but Vi chose to believe that her sister could be better. That’s what love does.

The same love that Silco poured on Jinx even while dying. You could see how much corruption that stained even the councilors.

I loved Mel Merdada, the one councilor who knew how to persuade people even though she came from a family of warriors, disowned for not having the heart of a warrior, casting fear in the hearts of their enemies but all Mel wanted was to earn the respect of the people which she did in Piltover.

Again loyalty could be seen in the followers of Silco, and Vander. It’s funny how Vander could prevent a battle by just nodding his head, and no one would be reckless enough to disobey.

For me, my favorite scene was when we saw the matured Ekko, the Boy savior and his fight scene with Jinx, I wished they had played the danger song that was used in spider verse for that fight scene🤣

How Ekko could build his small world safe and better than even Piltover and the Undercity is remarkable, and when he was asked how by Heimerdinger, he answered ‘its amazing what you can do when your life depends on it’

I think I related with that quote, there are other powerful quotes.

The movie is a movie that a lot of lessons can be learnt when seen with an open heart.

Meanwhile, the second season is out.
