I love washing plates, we all have those chores that get us happy, for some it could be sweeping, others could be washing their cars, others could be cooking, for some it could be sitting đ
Well it’s the washing for me, most times cars other times it’s just the plates and I’ll tell you why, washing plates opens my mind okay that was a joke, but there is a lesson to be learnt from washing plates.
1. Before washing the plates, one would feel tired, just seeing the different plates and pots could discourage you but the secret is just to start with one plate, then you move to the next, you have to start with the easiest but before you start, you start with the one that is easiest to start with and that’s how it is with life and maths, start with the known before you get to the unknown, start with things within your control don’t be bothered with plates out of your reach.
2. Make sure you have the right structures and systems in place, for washing the plates you have to have a washing water, a rinsing water, a drier (optional) and lastly a good drainage system.
Have a system to do the plans you have, a check (rinsing) just to be sure that you did the right thing, have an accountability process
3. The next lesson is to be consistent, you’ll start washing one by one but don’t stop, sometimes it would seem as though there is no progress but just don’t stop, just keep going especially if you know you are doing the right thing. Consistency in the right place guarantees results, don’t be weary in doing the right thing, failure is guaranteed when you stop halfway.
4. When you’re done, people would come to admire, results attract.
People might not come to meet you when you’re washing the plates, they only come after you’re done except they are coming to add more dirty dishes (which always happens everytime) but don’t let it get to you, just keep washing, as long as you don’t stop, you’ll still see results no matter how many dishes are going to be added. After you’re done, people would come to make use of the clean dishes, they might praise or thank you, sometimes they won’t, but be happy anyway…
What other lessons have you learnt from doing the chores.
