The Governor of Abia state celebrated his last birthday as the governor of Abia state, the ceremony was held in his house at the banquet hall.

The birthday ceremony which was celebrating his 58th birthday had the likes of Governor Wike Nyesom the incumbent governor of River state, former governor of Ekiti state Mr Kayode Fayemi, the local government chairmen of the different local government, Senator Adolphus Wabara, PDP governorship candidate Prof Ikonne, Chairman of Geometric power Mr Barth Nnaji, national awardees and the different royal fathers, the CAN State chairman etc

The birthday featured a panel session where different speakers talked about the role of youths in civic leadership and responsibility, the governor launched a book that was written about him titled “Okezie Ikpeazu, the bar of governance”

The highlight of the birthday was when the governor commissioned a library which he created in his father’s name.

The library is called Ishmael Ikpeazu memorial library and centre for scientific leadership

The library also has an e-library that contains more than 3 million e books.

The governor also launched his Fellowship programme for civic and scientific leadership which is called Dovifellowship, DOVI which is the acronym for the governor’s full name.

The first set of the beneficiaries can start applying, 50 successful fellows would be taught by great mentors during the course of 6 weeks starting from November 6th.

The governor was praised by different colleagues about the heart for giving back to the society in all his birthdays.
