The popular “Ghana must go” bag is a common waterproof bag that has colours and sizes in varieties. This bag is popular among Nigerians because of its availability, affordability and convenience in transporting luggage and items to other countries.

However, Nigerians making trips through the country’s International airport will no longer use the travel stripe sac popularly known/tagged as “Ghana must go” to convey their luggage.

This is a result of the ban placed on “Ghana must go” sacs by the Federal Airports Authority Of Nigeria at the 5 international Airports in the country, via a circular dated November 24, 2023, which was signed by Henok Gizachew the manager of the airports authority.

The circular read,

“Please be informed that effective November 25, 2023, the usage of Ghana Must Go to travel on our flight is hereby prohibited,”

This message has been passed to the 5 airlines, which have also notified their passengers.

The agency further stated that the convenient sac bag has cost airlines ambiguous losses and thus destroyed the conveyor belt system.

More so, he added that passengers who wish to use Ghana Must Go to travel must have the same well package in carton or hardcover of rectangular size.

It is recalled that in 2017, the United Arab Emirates authorities banned the use of oversized bags including the popular “Ghana must go” sact at the Dubai airports and this year it has received another ban from another country.

This might convince lovers of the popular sac that indeed the “Ghana must go” is problematic and thus help them to accept the ban in good faith.
