I remember when my second phone was stolen, I was so sad not just because I couldn’t replace the phone due to my financial status at the time but also because of all the files and media I had lost too.
For some days, I just kept moping around, thinking of what to do and I was not coming up with any solutions.
After a while, I then decided to do something else apart from mourning my phoneโฆlol. I chose to reconnect with my inner child who loved to write and doodle a lot.
I wrote. Normally, when ideas popped into my head, I would record them as voice memos or jot them down on my note appโฆbut mostly I didn’t go back to them.
The only actual handwriting I did was back when I was a kid and doodled on everything around even if it was meaningless.
But during this period, I wrote. I wrote about everything because that’s what I enjoyed doing. I wrote about how I felt in the morning when I woke up, how my day was going; how the sky looked, how airy the evening was and how it made me feelโฆI wrote aesthetically and I enjoyed it so much to the point of not being bored at all.
I decided to forget my predicament and chose to look at it differently. This helped me a lot. It helped me not focus on the bad in the situation but be able to see something good in it.

Imagine looking at the same object from two different angles – suddenly, it appears completely different. This is the power of perspective.
In a layman’s definition, Perspective refers to how someone sees or interprets something. It is influenced by a person’s experiences, beliefs, values, and emotions and affects how they understand and respond to various situations or events.
Perspective is shaped by a variety of factors, including culture, upbringing, education, and personal biases, and it varies greatly between people.

In conclusion,having a positive perspective or staying positive in turbulent situations has proved to be healthy for our mental health and life in general. Pessimism only worsens the situation and most times it creates problems we didn’t originally have.
