MOVIE REVIEW OF BLACK PANTER (WAKANDA FOREVER)
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a 2022 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Black Panther. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to Black Panther (2018) and the 30th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Ryan Coogler,
The movie had already been in the pipe until its lead character Chadwick Boseman died of colon cancer and they all had to start the movie afresh.
The plot of the movie was centered around the death of Black panther who was the protector of the Wakanda nation, It’s beautiful how Wakanda can still be so african cultured yet so technically advanced.
I loved how Wakandans honor and are patriotic about their nation, you can see it in the way Queen Ramonda was quick to protect her nation after her son died, we can also see it in the way that Okoye was quick to give up the position of the General for the queen and how she was willing to fight her beloved because of the black panther, she once said “my loyalty is to the throne, no matter who seats on it”
We could all see how Okoye was adamant and loyal to the traditions of the Dora, the dressing and spear or was it in the way that Okoye chose to fight for her country knowing she was no General.
You could feel the loyalty in the way that they chant “Yibambe” and Wakanda forever before they go to battle, you could see it in the way they salute themselves and royalty.
Their loyalty can be felt that even the colonizer Everett Ross and the scientist Riri Williams after few moments in Wakanda became loya as well.
Their loyalty and patriotism can be seen in the way they say their names. T’challa son of T’Chaka with so much pride.
So far the movie has grossed over 800 million dollars world wide making it the 8th highest grossing movie of 2022, and has been nominated for over 150 awards with producers and children.
