Alot of protests has been happening all over Nigeria for some time now, and alot of youths have been quiet about it. Now I really don’t blame you all,
Because I was also like you, trying to play it safe, you don’t want to die while protesting well if Nnamdi Azikiwe, Nelson Mandela and the likes were like you, there would be no independence either for Nigeria, South Africa or any other country.
I was watching a BBC documentary on the recent kidnapping that happened at the North East some time ago, and there in the documentary it happened, A Nigerian police was caught collecting bribe on the road, Kai
I felt ashamed honestly, on a documentary video that the world would watch. This problem is way beyond SARS. This is a Mindset.
Citizens are not patriotic, we don’t teach patriotism in schools, even to the tiniest details of keeping our surroundings clean, so someone would litter their refuse on the road on a Sanitation Day!, Seriously?
Until the Police are properly taught to know who they are, and patriotic lessons and meant to understand that a Nigerian even though is a criminal is a Nigerian and should be respected as such.
Japan had Riots during the extradition bill saga, even in the midst of the protests, offenders or protesters were beaten but not shot at. (And it wasn’t even a peaceful protest)
Where in the world would armed officers take random shots at unarmed protesters (Oh I remember, Nigeria)
This is beyond SARS
Can officers at least be trained for a year before they earn the title “Officer of the law”
These people don’t know the law let alone protect or defend it.
