Eons Intelligence earlier reported that armed bandits on Friday about 1 am invaded the female boarding school located within the Talata-Mafara local government area and abducted the girls.

Reacting to the development, Abutu Yaro, Zamfara State Commissioner of Police said a joint search and rescue operation is already underway with a view to rescuing the 317 students kidnapped by the bandits.

It is pertinent to recall that 27 students and 15 workers of Government Science College, Kagara in Niger State who were abducted by bandits nine days ago are still in captivity.

Meanwhile, the bandits have threatened to starve the captives to death if the ransom they are demanding is not paid on time.

Recall that a similar incident occurred in December 2020 when bandits abducted over 300 schoolboys from their dormitories in Kankara, Katsina State. However, the boys were rescued after spending 6 nights in captivity.
