The Difference in Your Mind and Mine

Only we can remove our ceilings and floors and have freedom, nobody else. What I mean by ceilings and floors is limitations, fears of things, and fears of success and failure. With that said, I begin this article. When I genuinely think of limitations and limits though, they genuinely start “between the ears and in the thinking organ for me though”. Yes, our greatest strengths and weaknesses come from ourselves and nowhere else, and if we are looking outside of ourselves, we are making a big mistake. What is outside of us is a symbol, our real selves are the genuine temple of the living God in us and around us.

What I just mentioned seems a little extreme in some ways, but it has the merit and reality of being the honest truth. Like anyone, at times, I have looked to others and “outside” for my answers only to be genuinely and powerfully disappointed. Indeed, the only genuine appointment we have is not with some outer “guru”, it is with ourselves, and the genuine meaning of the word guru in Sanskrit by the way, translates roughly to self or genuine self. Nothing more, nothing less. So the ceilings, floors and walls that genuinely limit us are perceptions and they are genuinely within us, and only we can remove them, really. When I think about reality, I “pervert” or change John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s words this way: “Ask not what your reality can do for you, ask what you can do with your reality.” Sure, I didn’t agree with most of the book “Profiles In Courage“, but I realized the genuine core message he was trying to get across even with politicians and politics though, I genuinely understood the rational context of his words “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”, I genuinely feel he wanted to mean in an ideally working world: “Ask what you can do for your reality, not what your reality can ‘get’ for you.” After all, what kind of thinking propelled all of that change in the 1960s anyway? Yes, if you have come this far without going “this is too much”, you understand what I am getting at. So, the essence of what I mean: If it is to be, it is up to us and nothing outside of us. We as conscious, thinking, reasoning spiritual beings are the Temple of the Living God and not any other thing. That is it, the rest is seat filler and to inform genuinely, if you do not have the basics. This has been “Your Mind, My Mind”, the article. The reality is within you.
