The Exam is a movie that is a must watch for anyone who is preparing for an interview or will some day go for one.
The Exam is a 2009 British psychological thriller film written by Simon Garrity and Stuart Hazeldine, directed by Hazeldine, and starring Colin Salmon, Chris Carey, Jimi Mistry, Luke Mably, Gemma Chan, Chukwudi Iwuji, John Lloyd Fillingham, Pollyanna McIntosh, Adar Beck and Nathalie Cox.
The Movie portrays eight mandatory candidates dress for what appears to be an employment assessment exam. The group enter a room and sit at individual desks. Each desk has a paper printed with the word “candidate” and a number from one to eight. The Invigilator, a representative of the company, DATAPREV, explains that the exam is 80 minutes and consists of only one question, but there are three rules: The candidates must not talk to him or the armed guard at the door, must not spoil their paper, and may not leave the room. If they do, they will be disqualified.
These 8 candidates from different races will come up with their advantages, learn how to work as a team and still compete against each other for the role of an Administrator with high paying and compensation plans.
LESSONS LEARNT FROM THE MOVIE “THE EXAM”
- In the beginning of the movie, we can see eight candidate well dressed for the Exam, so dressing matters..
- The Chinese candidate was disqualified quickly because she rushed and wasn’t attentive to hear the instructions
- Another thing to notice was that all eight candidates were from different races, middle east, asia, british, american, african,
Their background and Experiences gave them skills and made them knowledgeable. They were gamblers, abused, physiotherapist, daring etc
- White broke the ice( initiated the conversation and automatically everyone looked up to him as a leader)
- Dark made inquiries and research about the company before coming to the interview (even though she worked for the company)
- White knew he had the disease and went with an extra pill (go with everything you have and more for any interview)
- Brown stole the pill, (not everyone you meet at the interview is your ally, remember it’s a competition, YOU CAME TO WIN)
- Have a plan up your sleeve, (Blond was hiding with one leg in the room so she wasn’t disqualified)
- White felt that he was the winner, unknown to him, Deaf has set the clock forward by few minutes (Never be too confident)
- Deaf was trying to tell them the answer (because he could see it with his glasses but he was neglected because of his personality, everyone in a team is special you need discernment to see this)
