Part of the things that make your social media platform stand out is the way you portray yourself, the way you can create a nice impression on others and make people have a nice perception of you is through your brand and words.

Its just like a CV that shows people what you have done, the skills you have and makes the potential employer know whether you are employable or not, it takes words to make people know what to think about you, or how to judge you either by the words you say about yourself or the words that people say about you but we can’t all hope that what people would say about you would be nice.

A powerful profile either for Linkedin, Facebook, or Instagram should possess all or a few of these topics listed below.

1. What makes you tick and what are you passionate?
Humans are community-driven people, we need to be in tribes, a tribe is a group of people connected to one another, connected to a leader, and connected to an idea. A group needs only two things to be a tribe: a shared interest and a way to communicate.” This is one of the things that most social media influencers take advantage of, communities, tribes or a group, whatever name it takes that makes the members happy, your profile is where you can talk about what you’re passionate about.
2. Highlight your achievement and success
Ever heard of the matthew effect? People love to be associated with good news, success attracts or let me put it this way, success attracts more success, your achievements could be the attraction that could pull a client, customer, it also shows people what you can do and would make others want you to do the same for them
Lets say that you were an award winning business developer, when other business owners in need of a business developer see your profile, they are motivated to also send a message across.

3. Tell Stories
Stories are one way to get the attention of customers and clients without them knowing it, Story selling is a type of sales strategy where sales and marketing professionals seek to tell stories that highlight the benefits of a product or service, rather than discussing its prices, product models, product features or uses.
“We are, as a species, addicted to story. Even when the body goes to sleep, the mind stays up all night, telling itself stories.” – Jonathan Gottschall
Social media is also a great place to find elements to craft a great story for case studies, your blog and your website.

4. Highlight a problem that you solve, the service that you offer and the products that you sell
Your bio is the best place to show what problem you can solve, most of the readers might not actually patronize you at the moment but it would register in their minds that you provide those services and when they are interested in buying that product or looking for someone to provide that particular service, your name comes to mind. You can also show your relevant skills there as well.

5. Have a call to action
The call to action is a key element on a profile, acting as a signpost that lets the user know what to do next. Without a clear CTA, the user may not know the next steps to take to purchase a product or sign up for a newsletter and is likely to leave the site without accomplishing their task. It’s important because if you don’t ask, then you don’t get. A strong CTA not only convinces people to act, but it also tells them what to do and how to do it.
“Link in bio” is essentially a call to action, promoting more information available outside of Instagram’s parameters. But Instagram recently gifted us two new features: linkable profiles and hashtags, right in your bio. You can now add them alongside the link to your website.

Some clients/potential employers might want to look for a way to communicate with you after reading your bio, so you should do well to either leave a link, email, or contact details so that you can be reached with.

Do these and find yourself having an optimized cover letter and bio.
