Chief David Siunoje
The Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, Canada, sitting in Courtroom 103, has acquitted Chief David Siunoje, also known as MAMA, of all criminal charges brought against him by Blessing Nwoyibo Charles, a Nigerian resident in Canada.
In a live interview with The Nigerian Voice Correspondent in Washington DC, Chief Siunoje’s lawyer, Mr. Robb Macdonald, stated that his client had been charged with sexual assault, voyeurism, extortion, and breach of recognizance under the Criminal Code of Canada. These allegations, made by the complainant Blessing Nwoyibo Charles, were said to have occurred in Brampton, Ontario.

Upon reviewing the charges, Robb Macdonald, the attorney for Mr. David Siunoje, determined that the allegations were “frivolous and based on an unreliable complaint.” Recognizing the weaknesses in the case, his lawyer engaged with the government prosecutor and argued that, given the ‘bad faith’ of the complainant, the case should be dismissed. This indicated that the allegations lacked any arguable basis in law or fact.
The complainant, Blessing Nwoyibo Charles, a native of Ubulu-Uku in Delta State, Nigeria, and a resident of Canada, had approached the Canadian government with accusations of sexual harassment and rape aimed at incriminating Chief Siunoje. It was revealed that she had been dishonest in her marriage, engaging in multiple extramarital affairs and misleading her male partners into believing she was either unmarried or divorced.

Blessing Nwoyibo Charles, who falsely accused Chief David Siunoje of sexual assault, voyeurism, extortion, and breach of recognizance, is now facing repercussions following the investigation. Her husband, Mr. Charles Obi Ilodigwe, from Mgbakwu Abogu in Anambra State, Nigeria, is grappling with the consequences of his wife’s infidelity. His next steps are unpredictable and potentially volatile. However, expectations are low, as multiple sources indicate that she is the primary financial provider for their household.
In an interview with The Nigerian Voice, renowned criminal attorney Robb Macdonald revealed that he further weakened the case against Chief Siunoje by filing an application to introduce text messages and video evidence that contradicted the complainant’s account. Consequently, the government prosecutor agreed to drop all charges. On May 24, 2024, the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton formally discharged and cleared Chief Siunoje of all charges.
In a conversation with Chief Siunoje, he acknowledged the recent developments and expressed gratitude to God for his vindication. He shared that since the 2023 general election in Nigeria, he has been targeted by persecution and smear campaigns aimed at diminishing his political influence. According to him, several media outlets and social media platforms in Nigeria were manipulated by his detractors to spread false and damaging information about him. However, he emphasized that, as the saying goes, ‘lies have short legs and cannot run far,’ highlighting that the truth has ultimately prevailed.

Chief David Siunoje, Finally Vindicated
Chief David Siunoje, popularly known as MAMA, has been vindicated after facing numerous false accusations and malicious efforts to tarnish his reputation. According to Chief David, his adversaries went to great lengths in their attempts to discredit him, including writing frivolous letters to His Royal Majesty, the Obi of Issele-Uku, in an effort to turn him against the gazetted chief. They even resorted to consulting a witch doctor to intimidate the community with curses and charms.
“Despite everything, I am thankful to God and have come to realize that no mortal being has the authority of God. It’s a futile effort to try to undermine someone who has been divinely favored,” he stated.
Regarding Blessing Nwoyibo Charles, who he believes was used as a pawn in the campaign against him, Chief David said, “I have chosen to forgive and move forward, acknowledging that every wrong action has consequences, but I leave revenge to God. Currently, I am focusing on exploring legal options with my team to address the media smear campaign and propaganda spread by various media outlets and social media platforms.”
