Soon after, she guest-starred as a character named Jennifer, appearing on two episodes of the hit show Full House. She went on to have a small role in Harry and the Hendersons, playing Jessica.

At the age of 12, in 1993, she began her well-known role as Topanga Lawrence-Matthews on the ABC series Boy Meets World. Originally written as a small part, Topanga became a recurring role. And after a successful first year, Danielle became a show regular. After seven years, the show ended in 2000. In December 1998, she was on the cover of Seventeen. The following year, she reprised her role of Topanga Lawrence-Matthews in the Boy Meets World spin-off series, Girl Meets World.
