Rev. Duke Oliogu and his wife went to Nigeria for the celebration of life and thanksgiving service in memory of his departed mother-in-law, Madam Patricia Ekuase Elabor, a famous businesswoman in Benin City, who passed away in Toronto last year and was buried in Benin City on July 1, 2021.
He was abducted around 9 pm on January 16 at GRA in Benin City

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the burial ceremony and thanksgiving service were postponed to January 15 and 16.
The burial ceremony took place at Crown Height Pavilion, Benin City while the thanksgiving service took place at Deeper Life Bible Church, New Benin, Benin City.
Rev. Oliogu went to GRA a few hours after the Thanksgiving ceremony, when kidnapped. His whereabouts are unknown.
No family member has been able to speak out publicly because they are still pleading with kidnappers to release him.
Rev. Oliogu is a minister at Lake Ridge Hospital in Oshawa. A very humble servant of God. His children and members of the Faith Parliamentary Ministry are devastated and are seeking help from Edo State, the Nigerian Government, and Canadian Embassy in Nigeria.
