Four individuals have been arrested after the body of a farmer, Joel Omirenya, disappeared from the Sacred Heart Hospital’s mortuary in the Lantoro area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

 

Omirenya, 86, was admitted to the Sacred Heart Hospital after he turned out to be ill at home.

 

Tragically, he died at the hospital in February and his body was set in the hospital’s mortuary.

 

The deceased’s family members found the corpse flawless each time they visited to pay for the corpse to be safeguarded.

 

Relatives had concluded plans to pass the farmer’s corpse on to their hometown in Benue State when the corpse disappeared from the mortuary.

 

The offspring of the deceased had notified the hospital management on Friday, Walk 21, of their arrangement to take their dad’s body for burial and asked that the body be dressed on Sunday, Walk 23.

 

Be that as it may, when the kids got to the mortuary for the dressing of the corpse on Sunday, Walk 23, having covered each necessary bill, they couldn’t track down the body.

Two mortuary chaperons, an inspector, and a handyman have now been arrested over the mysterious disappearance of the corpse.

 

The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of the state police order, Abimbola Oyeyemi affirmed the episode.

 

Oyeyemi likewise affirmed the capture of four people regarding the missing corpse.
