Wizkid

Celebrated Nigerian singer, Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, is sure a house hold name who has carved a niche for himself in the entertainment industry. However, his latest single, “Bad to me” is like thrash thrown at his fans.

Bad to me was release on the 14th of September, 2022.

Wizkid’s first official single of 2022 is “Bad To Me.” The song, which features Amapiano, was produced by P2J and is the follow-up to “Made In Lagos (Deluxe),” the longest-charting Afrobeat album on Billboard.

Big Wiz’s fourth studio album, Made In Lagos, was released in October 2020. It was an international commercial success and peaked at number one on the Billboard World Album Chart. The single Essence, featuring Tems, from the album became the first Nigerian song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number ten after receiving a Justin Bieber-assisted remix.

At the moment, Wizkid is undoubtedly the largest Afrobeats musician in the world and one of the continent of Africa’s top music exporters. Wizkid broke a world record in 2021 by selling out the O2 on three straight days, surpassing the previous mark of just 8 performers.

However, Bad to me is a flop, and the song is currently not doing well on charts.

The song is on number 10 on this week’s Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart as against the number 8 it was last week. The song has only spent three (3) weeks on the chart and many are of the opinion that the highly publicized single isn’t doing well.

Rema ft. Selena Gomez’s “Calm down” is at the top of this week’s chart. Last Last by Burna Boy comes in at number two, and Free mind by Tems comes in at number three.
