Nigerian music superstar David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has stirred public attention with his latest revelation about adopting a monogamous lifestyle. In a recent interview on The Breakfast Club podcast, the father of five openly declared that he is done with cheating and is now focused on maintaining a stable family life.

“I’m not cheating again. I don’t want wahala,” Davido said, referencing the drama that has surrounded his romantic life in the past. “I have five kids with four women. I’d rather go and live how my guys are living. Maybe because I’ve had bad experiences. Sometimes, experience is the best teacher.”

The announcement came as a surprise to many, considering Davido’s well-documented controversies involving multiple romantic partners over the years. He cited the dysfunction he witnessed in polygamous homes, particularly within his own extended family – as a major reason behind his decision. Despite the wealth his uncles had, he noted that their relationships were far from peaceful.

When asked by the podcast hosts if he would consider marrying another woman—technically making it legal and not cheating—Davido firmly responded, “No.”

This shift in lifestyle appears to be part of a broader transformation for the artist, who tied the knot with long-time partner Chioma Rowland (popularly known as Chef Chi) in 2023. He also disclosed that their long-anticipated white wedding will take place in Miami this August, exciting fans who have closely followed their love story.

In the same interview, Davido addressed several key relationships within the Nigerian music scene. Speaking on his connection with fellow artists Burna Boy and Wizkid, he admitted, “I don’t have any personal relationships with them. I did at some point in time… The conversation is bigger than the ‘Big 3’ now. There’s Rema, Ayra Starr, and other artists right now. I think the three of us understand that it’s bigger than us.”

He also spoke candidly about his fallout with singer Tiwa Savage, which dates back to January 2024 when Tiwa posted a picture with his baby mama, Sophia Momodu. The situation escalated after Tiwa accused Davido of threatening her life – a claim that made headlines.

However, Davido seemed keen on reconciliation, stating: “Tiwa Savage is my sister for life… She changed the game for females. We’re family, and I love her and her child. It’s just like a brother and sister fight. She did reach out, and I’ll never allow anything to happen to her.”

As Davido opens a new chapter in his life, embracing monogamy, planning a wedding, and reconciling with former friends – fans and critics alike are left watching closely to see if this transformation will stand the test of time.
