Atleast 15 shops were leveled by fire in the inferno that assaulted a complex of shops along Fatai Irawo, Ajao Estate, Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State on Friday as retailers describe their misfortunes.

The fire, which was said to have broken out in the region by power glitch, desolated practically all shops in the complex at 34, Fatai Irawo Street, Ajao Estate, devastating products and properties worth a large number of naira, turning the complex to scroungers’ site.

The Manager of Wait and Carry Express Cargo, Mr. Emeka John, who possesses two distribution centers in the perplexing, communicated his stunning conviction at the degree at which the fire devoured practically all transported products in one of his stockrooms, expressing that solitary little things could be rescued.

Talking with newsmen, he stated: “Everything inside here (one of the distribution centers) got singed. We could just recuperate little things. Products worth Millions of naira just as 200 Dollar money and about N800,000 thousand in the safe got scorched in the shop.”

While Speaking on the reason for the fire, John told newsmen “I don’t generally have a clue what caused the fire. I just got a call around past 2 that the shop was consuming. I thought it isn’t something as much as this not realizing it has torched as of now.”

In the interim, onlooker account uncovered the feasible reason for the inferno to be electric flood while accusing the fire administration for not being at the spot on schedule, including that more products would have been spared if the Police had not denied them entrance till the retailers came.
