Death or severe morbidity during sexual intercourse has established medical causes.

The possible causes are mostly via Cardiovascular and neurological complications The victim may have known or unknown pre – existing medical conditions.

Sexual encounter ( especially illicit) is associated with severe combined aerobic and static exercise. This combination exerts an inordinate burden on the heart and circulation.

This may result in severe stress on the heart and blood vessels.

Illicit sexual engagements, may further increase the adrenergic excitement, further raising heart rate , blood pressure, heart muscle oxygen demand, increased risk of heart.muscle blood and oxygen deficit, and abnormal heart rhythms, which could be fatal.

Blood vessels in the brain which are weak may burst, causing brain bleeding, and blood chemistry may be altered adversely.

The stereotypical sex death victims are usually middle aged men, who may have undiagnosed or occult medical conditions.

Sickle Cell Trait ( Hemoglobin As) especially combined with abnormal glucose level, is associated with sudden collapse and deaths during exercise.

This was first confirmed in a very large study where Black American military recruits exclusively died, during strenuous military training exercise.

The fatalities were all confirmed to have Sickle Cell Trait ( AS Genotype). Strenuous exercise may cause Sickling of Hemoglobin AS ( Trait ) containing red blood cells. Dehydration may contribute further.

The Sickled cells of AS ,( not SS) clogs small blood vessel to the heart , brain, kidneys or lungs or bowels. These can kill.

I wish we knew the Hemoglobin Genotype of the Magun male victims.

There should forensic autopsy conducted on ” magun suspects ”

There are many other possible causes of sex act death ranging from brain aneurysms to rupture of internal major blood vessels.

The aforesaid, in no way invalidates the existence and alleged effectiveness of magun

It is is a phenomenon that needs to be studied.

American Fulbright scholars have visited Ile- ife and the OAU ife to study Ayeta, afeeri, okigbe and incantations. So why are we not studying magun ? 👀🤷🏽‍♀️

In science, there is a dictum which states that ” Absence of evidence, is not evidence against “.

We have no empirical scientific evidence for or against Magun and therefore, it needs to be investigated by hypothesis driven mechanistic research.

Magun possible mechanisms, may involve exaggeration of the male Cardiovascular response to exercise during sexual activity.

There are drugs that raise blood pressure.
Burantashi which we studied, raises BP and acts like viagra in lab animals.

So until we study magun, let’s not dismiss it.

In the mean time, men who are AS need to be more restrained or celibate
