The city of Vancouver has become the butt of jokes for many Canadians after the west-coast metropolis was hit with a massive snow-storm typically reserved for the rest of Canada.

Nearly 30 centimeters of snow was dumped on the Vancouver area from Tuesday night into Thursday morning, according to Environment Canada

One video going viral online shows an ambulance and its rescue vehicle stuck in the snow.

“Behold, an ambulance stuck in the Vancouver snow and the tow truck sent to save it also now stuck,” the X user Darcy Matheson wrote.

The winter storm led to school closures, transit delays and even a suspension of mail delivery from Canada Post which has since been lifted.

The blast of snow prompted many Vancouver residents and reporters to document how the city embraced and buckled under the winter weather.

Vancouver area police departments even had to issue reminders to residents to do what most Canadians would assume are no-brainers like having a snowbrush handy and clearing your car of snow before driving.

It’s no secret, Vancouver’s west-coast geography gives it a privilege of experiencing more mild rainy weather compared to the typical brutal cold and snow that the rest of Canada deals with.

CBC Vancouver reporter Justin McElroy produced a report showing that in 2022 the city of Vancouver budgeted only four million for snow removal compared to the City of Toronto who budgeted more than $100 million.

However, the steady flow of footage of Vancouver residents being confused, nervous and in love with the snow ignited many Candians to start making fluffy remarks about their fellow canucks.

Even the CBC’s Ian Hanomansingh couldn’t help but just embrace the jokes
