MY REVIEW OF THE MOVIE ‘RUMBLE’
This is a movie produced by Paramount pictures and WWW studios amongst other about a young lady who father (Jimbo) coached the best monster wrestler by name Rayburn and now her city wrestling stadium/ring is at the verge of being destroyed and she seeks a chance to restore the glory that the city once had as well as her father’s legacy.
This movie is worth watching if you’re yet to be someone’s mentor or mentee, student or coach.
The movie also stars the voices of legendary wrestlers like Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns
There was a quote that Winnie’s Mon made that I think we need to really understand.
“Train the monster (skill, talent,mentee) you have not the monster (skill, talent, mentee) you wish you have”
Most times most people don’t understand that they can never be like everyone else, everyone wanted Rayburn Jr/Steve to be like his father who was the GOAT, when all he wanted to do was dance, until Winnie discovered that she could coach him to dance his way to the big belt(trophy)
It was funny to see how Rayburn his his identity from the world because he wanted to be himself and not in his father’s shadow, the same thing that prompted Tentacular (a wrestler trained in Stoke)
Tentacular is a perfect example that most proteges, mentees and students would betray you and it’s not your fault, it’s just how selfish man can be, it’s something that shouldn’t prevent us from picking and training them also, most world leaders were betrayed by family and disciples like Julius Caesar, Jesus, David etc
One thing to also note in this movie is that coaches need their students and students need their coaches, I know you might see yourself as a great coach or personality that doesn’t need to train someone else but that isn’t how things are done.
Training ensures continuity, did you know Socrates never wrote a book but we know of him because his student Plato bothered to write about him, same with Jesus.
Your disciples would be the reason why people would know you. Like Paul would say
“Find faithful men and entrust them with these sayings of mine and let them teach others”
