Have you heard of the white Nigerian?
Mohammed Jammal was born and bred in Jos. He was born into a family of 6 children, and was the sixth child at that time. He was just a normal child growing up in Jos who didn’t know he was different because he was white. He grew up with everybody in the normal way that every other Nigerian did.
Childhood was good because his dad had a workshop and a lot of workers both at home and in the office. He grew up speaking Hausa
He went to Hillcrest school, it’s an American school in Jos and that was where he did 12 years of both primary and secondary school. Then he went to London for 5 years and that’s where he did my undergrad. He was in London for 4 years getting to 5 years, 3 years undergrad and 18 months for his Masters. Then he came back to Nigeria.
He realised he was different was when he went to London actually. the Nigerians that were there made me realise I was different from every other Nigerian. But in Nigeria, I did not notice that which is very weird. They started calling him “the white Nigerian” That’s actually how the whole name came up.
Then AY was doing an event and at that point he posted some stuff on YouTube. Hecompared his life in London with his life in Nigeria and said Nigeria is a better place than London, AY saw it and decided to like let him into his show. Now he was not an entertainer, he was studying International business and global management but that became his first trial in the entertainment world
The Nigerian embassy also invited him for their ‘Nigeria at 50’ event and that was how the whole ‘White Nigerian’ thing became a reputation.
He is happily married to Maricel Romero with two beautiful daughters.
His company Threem Plus (3M+) known in the Construction and Properties industry was given an Award for Excellence Enterprise at the Nigerian Entrepreneurs Award alongside Top 100 Fastest Growing SME’s in Nigeria at the just concluded Business Day Awards held in Lagos.
His passion for our country has garnered him a lot of respect amongst the youths and his peers with his initiative on youth empowerment. This is done by constantly creating job opportunities, as his company grows bigger and better.
‘White Nigerian’ Jammal does not have dual citizenship. In his words “Nigeria is the only country I know. It is my homeland and with all its challenges it is a place that will make substantial progress if we all decide to commit ourselves to his betterment”
Mohammed Jammal also known as White Nigerian has bagged 3 Awards including Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2018.
He was also nominated for The Future Awards Business Category while the likes of Ahmed Musa, Maryam Booth, Burna Boy, Davido and Nadine Ibrahim where nominated for other categories.
He truly is one of the influencers that we have in Africa not just Nigeria, with his Patriotic spirit and love for Africa, we choose to make him our model for the week
