- ARABIC IS THE MOST WIDELY SPOKEN LANGUAGE Interestingly, the most widely spoken language in Africa is Arabic (170 million speakers); followed by English (130 million speakers), and French (115 million speakers).
- MOST MULTILINGUAL CONTINENT There are over 2,000 different recognized languages spoken all across the 54 countries in Africa, with multifarious dialects, deeply rooted in the African culture for centuries.
- LIFE BEGAN IN AFRICA Scientific evidence suggests earliest humans had originally inhabited an area now known as Africa, precisely East Africa, as scientists discovered human-like fossils dated back around 2.8 million years ago.
- AFRICA’S POPULATION WILL MORE-THAN-DOUBLE BY 2050 In 1950, the population of Africa was 177 million, and it grew 7.6 times more than the current 1.37 billion as of May 2021.
Experts forecast by 2050, Africa’s total population would reach nearly 2.5 billion, or even possibly more.
