On May 22, officers from the Ogun State Police Command arrested a 28 year old man, Adeyemi Babatunde, on charges of defiling his 5-year-old biological daughter.

The suspect was arrested after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint with the Ijebu Mushin branch. She said she noticed that her daughter complained of pain when she tried to urinate, and also every time he bathed for her, he would touch the part of the body. . Realizing this, she asked the little girl to tell her what had happened to her private parts.

At the time, the victim shared that her father laid her on the bed and forced his manhood into her privates when her mother wasn’t home.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to having committed the crime but said he did not know what was worrying him at the time.

SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesman for the State Police Headquarters, confirmed the incident and stated that the State Police Commissioner CP Olanrewaju Oladimeji approved the transfer of the suspect to the Anti-Corruption Department of the State Criminal Investigation Department for child trafficking and work for further investigation and ordered prosecution.
