Katz left Dallas in 1991 after 149 episodes and appeared in Eerie, Indiana as Marshall Teller (1991-1992. In 1991 he also played Jack Adams in Zorro and Timmy in Adventures in Dinosaur City.

From 1992 to 1993, he portrayed Jason in The Torkelsons, Stan in Matinee, and Max Dennison in Hocus Pocus. He played Tony Hemingway in The John Larroquette Show from 1993 to 1995 appearing in a recurring role in 6 episodes. In 1996 he played John Ross Ewing III in Dallas: JR Returns. After 3 years he portrayed Brad in Freaks and Geeks in the episode ”Tests and Breasts” in 1999. From 2000 to 2002, Katz appeared in two films General Hospital as Tattoo Artist (2000) and Journey Into Night as Sean. The latter was a short film, after which he retired from acting. It was reported that he stays in touch with his Hocus Pocus co-stars in 2015. He is operating a cannabis company as of February 2022.
