Allow me to introduce you to my favorite Bible character after Jesus and Paul, many people think of him as imaginary, a fairy tale and also a myth.
Ladies and gentlemen, the amazing third king of Isreal, King Solomon, this is a man I really love and I’ll tell you why.
Solomon was the only king who prayed to God and God answered with Fire from heaven, the only king that God gave an open cheque to, the only king who never fought a war, the only king to marry 700 wives and we never heard they quarrelled and the only king who wrote over a thousand songs and three thousand proverbs etc
There is more though, certain men find it hard to live with one wife but there was so much wisdom in this man that he married 700 and had 300 concubines and his wives were away but they weren’t bothered, sometimes I wonder what the 700th wife saw in him that made her still agreed to marry Solomon… But today I want us to learn how to pitch from Solomon, ready?
God asked Solomon to make a request of one thing only, but let’s learn from Solomon
1. The first lesson is to know your investor’s history and capabilities, well we would see Solomon outline how God has always kept to his word by building the temple and making him Solomon king in his father’s stead, he also outlined and praised God for his faithfulness
1 Kings 3:6
AMP:Solomon said, You have shown to Your servant David my father great mercy and loving-kindness, according as he walked before You in faithfulness, righteousness, and uprightness of heart with You; and You have kept for him this great kindness and steadfast love, that You have given him a son to sit on his throne this day.
It is always good to know your investor’s history because it shows you studied.
2. Know your investor’s pain points
Solomon knew that the people of Isreal had annoyed God at different circumstances, from the day the erected baal, the day they asked for food, they also asked for water and meat, they rebelled against moses, they asked for a King which led to Saul’s coronation, etc
He knew that all the things that Isreal did really hurt God so much so he mentioned it to God how he was but a little child, a young boy, other leaders before him were much older in age and experience but he had none.
AMP:Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of David my father, and I am but a lad [in wisdom and experience]; I know not how to go out (begin) or come in (finish).

AMP:Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people who cannot be counted for multitude.
3. Make yourself the solution to that pain point, show a way that what you’re asking for can meet up that pain point.
Solomon asked for wisdom as a way to guide God’s people, he didn’t make the request about him, he made it about God, noticed how he mentioned that the people of Isreal were God’s people not his subjects.
AMP:So give YOUR servant an understanding mind and a hearing heart to judge YOUR people, that I may discern between good and bad. For who is able to judge and rule this YOUR great people?
Most pitchers make the proposal about themselves and not about the investor, yes the investor wants to help you but what is he getting in return, just match what you want as a solution to his pain point and watch how your pitch would please your Angel investor.
