THE EASY AND EFFECTIVE WAY OF GETTING A JOB (WITHOUT PAYING ANYONE A DIME)

It seems these days that We no longer have hunters who go into the bush to hunt for meat but graduates who go job hunting to “bring home the bacon”

Here are few steps to help you a better Job hunter

1. You have to choose a career,

Many people haven’t gotten Jobs because they are into Alot of stuff, their mind isn’t made up yet, no one can really recommend a particular Job for you, you’re neither here or there.

Because you heard that there was vacancy somewhere, you applied. That is not how it works, Instead look for one you’re passionate about, have experience about and have acquired knowledge about.

2. After choosing a career plan and identifying a job, let’s say you chose being an Accountant, or Customer service agent, Seek out those who are already with this Job, and find out their history, what did they do differently and how did they get to that position.

3. Seek out the Job skills and certifications required, Do you need to join ICAN, or NIM etc, do you need a human resource management certificate, or a customer service and relations certificates, what soft skills do you need to help you become efficient like emotional intelligence, empathy, team leadership etc.

4. Create a good curriculum vitae and resume that can convey and sell you so well to any hiring manager, you could request for help in this, familiarise yourself with interview questions and possibly ask recruiters what it would take to hire someone of that role you wish to apply for and learn from their answers.

5. Tell people to help search for you, you aren’t omnipresent so you definitely would miss out on certain Job roles that you could fit in perfectly for, it’s easier to tell friends I’m looking for a job in xyz, than I’m just looking for a Job whenever they see the xyz, they will be sure to alert you.

You can also be part of an online community that posts job notifications, sign up with various Job seeking websites and apps and turn on their post notification, you can find apps like jobberman, LinkedIn, Instagram pages, Facebook pages, telegram communities, snagajob etc.

6. Lastly be part of a local chapter of the member professional body affiliated with the job that you seek, this would help you network well with the people who are already in the system, working with companies so they would be the first to know if their company needs a recruitment or replacement also you get to also learn from them, the challenges that they encounter each day, this would enable you answer some interview questions when your job application becomes successful.

Hope you found value? Are there other ways one can optimise these options or are there more?
