In a delightful display of unity and camaraderie, the esteemed former President Olusegun Obasanjo paid a special visit to the distinguished First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in celebration of the joyous Sallah festival.
The gracious gesture was revealed by the esteemed spokesperson for the First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, who shared the heartwarming moment captured in a photograph of both revered leaders on social media. Kukoyi expressed that the former president’s presence was a gesture of warm felicitations extended to the esteemed wife of the President in the vibrant city of Lagos.
She wrote, “Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, after receiving the former President who came felicitating on the Sallah celebration on Monday, 17th June.”
In a riveting revelation on May 27th, Obasanjo criticized the Tinubu administration for its lackluster execution of removing the fuel subsidy and initiating the floatation of the naira. The former President deemed these policies as essential but severely botched in their implementation.
Via a statement released by his trusted Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo further expressed disapproval towards Nigeria’s handling of the coup in the Republic of Niger.
He was said to have spoken in Abuja at a colloquium tagged: “Nigeria’s Development: Navigating the Way Out of the Current Economic Crisis and Insecurity.”
