Tuesday 15th March 2022. A Canadian Based Self-determination Activist, Mr. Olaseni Bokini has described an allegation slammed against him, his group, MASSES, and the leader of the umbrella body of Yoruba Self-determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Professor Banji Akintoye by one Akin Fatoyinbo, that they are planning to adopt Terrorism approaches to the Yoruba Nation Self-determination Campaign as reckless and irresponsible.
Olaseni Bokini, the co-convener of the Middle Belt and South Security Solution (MASSES), a group in Diaspora mobilizing against the economic subjugation and oppression of the people of the South and Middle-Belt of Nigeria, alleged that those behind the reports are cowards working for the Nigerian Government to stain the integrity of the group working for Yoruba Nation Self-determination.
Describing himself as a man of integrity and impeccable character, Olaseni vowed to institute legal actions against the Online Platforms that publish the reports.
I state that those declarations in the articles are fallacious, untrue and unwarranted as they are intended to tarnish my image for the good work I am doing towards the movement for self-determination for the Yoruba people.
These accusations were facilitated by a clubhouse member who goes by the name Akin Fatoyinbo, where he wrongly informed the online publication that I , Olaseni Bokini, wants to raise funds for the purchase of weapons through one imaginary Gogo who is reportedly a Medical Practitioner based in the United Kingdom (UK) with the aim of destabilizing Nigeria. The untrue statement are mendacious, illogical and a desperate attempt to tarnish the image of the self-determination movement.
“The Accuser is working with the Nigerian Government just to tarnish the image of our self-determination movement. Our group understand what the law requires for the purpose of self-determination of any tribe or race and are willing to follow the letters by laws to achieve the noble cause and not the fallacious and image tarnishing process as alleged by Akin Fatoyinbo by using the online publications.
“The Middle Belt and South Security Solution (MASSES) is a clarion call to all stakeholders (Individuals and organizations) across the Middle Belt and Southern States to come together to make a formal declaration and outline action plans to address the existential threat facing the regions.
“The MASSES Programme is one of its kind to save the Middle Belt (MB) and Southern Nigeria (SN) from its ever-greatest threat after the 15th Century Transatlantic slave trade.
“The libelous articles claimed that members of our group, (MASSES), with my name mentioned along with Otunba Ogedengbe and Professor Banji Akintoye alleged to be involved of buying arms with the intention of bombing the Lagos International Airport and adopting Terrorism approaches towards securing self-determination for the Yoruba people.
“These false accusation is a desperate attempt to disrupt the intended Summit (MASSES) as Baba Banji Akintoye attended our meeting to brief us on our advocacy on peaceful and legal means towards achieving our goals.
“We state expressly that these purveyors of fake and bad news are just jittery of our goals of freeing the Yoruba people from their oppressors. “An idea which time has come”
“Finally i say with all sense of modesty that, I, Olaseni Bokini is not a Terrorist and do not belong to any terrorist group or organization but a law-abiding Yoruba Man with an impeccable honor and integrity, willing and ready to follow the letters of the laws for the purpose of achieving our aims and objectives for the Yoruba people.”
