Angry youths of Anaku in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday took to the streets to protest against kidnapping and other criminal activities perpetrated by herdsmen along the Adani-Kogi highway, in the community.
This comes after herdsmen in the community allegedly kidnapped an undisclosed number of persons on Friday.
It was gathered that the protest attracted the attention of the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor, who addressed the youths and condemned the incessant cases of kidnappings along the road.
The security operatives in the community led by the DPO of Anaku Divisional Police in Ayamelum LGA, CSP Chukwunonso, also addressed the youths and said that investigations are ongoing to arrest the masterminds of these criminal activities.
