Actress  Rita Daniels Drags Son-in-Law Ned Nwoko Over Alleged Assault and Marital Breakdown

 

 In a recent live video, Regina Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels was seen in  front of police station shouting and telling the world how Senator Ned Nwoko police ordered on her children 

 

However, she also said that Senator Ned Nwoko  paid police officer to beat and use a tear gas on her children before they dispersed them from the police station

 

“which money? You wanted someone with a high star to boost your fallen star because we are covering you up and Regina is making you feel like an odogwu. When you wanted to contest for election, I supported you with fifty thousand dollars,  nah chaise? and you are busy calling my family a golddigger”. She said 

 

“ Regina is not a gold digger, the same way you go up, you will come down or if you think you can bite a finger that  fed you,  you will come down. Go and see whether Senator Ned Nwoko’s children look like a millionaire’s children, “she added.

 

A Current interview with Actress Rita Daniels  on BBC News and her statement on  her daughter’s marriage 

 

On 3 October 2025, Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, in an interview with BBC News Igbo, said she “never wanted my daughter to marry Senator Ned Nwoko, but she insisted.”  She clarified:

“I was weak, but what was I to do? I had to stand by my daughter.” 

Later, when the marital crisis erupted publicly, Rita took to social media to fault how Ned Nwoko handled the issue, saying that rather than “exonerating himself” he should have supported Regina and made clear that she was getting help.

 

 She wrote: “He should have been seen in support… only telling us she is getting the help she needs and he will be by her side.”

On 19 October 2025,  Senator Ned Nwoko issued a public statement blaming Regina for drug and alcohol abuse, claiming that her “current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem.” 

 

He stated a condition; that Regina must enter rehabilitation either in Asokoro, Abuja or outside Nigeria (particularly Jordan) where she would not have access to drugs. 

 

Furthermore, the matter escalated when Regina alleged that her brother and sister were arrested; she claimed this was orchestrated by senator Ned Nwoko to force her to return and go to rehab. 

 

So,  Senator Ned’s position is that any breakdown in the home is linked to Regina’s alleged substance abuse and he is insisting on rehabilitation; meanwhile, Regina and her family say the move is coercive and the arrests of her siblings are retaliatory.

 

Regina has responded publicly on Senator Ned Nwoko on her siblings 

 

In a video that circulated around 18 October 2025 she was heard saying: “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house I am a queen… Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.” 

 

On 3 November 2025 she posted: “Someone pls help me! I feel like I’m losing my mind. I never thought I would do this but my big brother and big sister have been arrested, my baby sister might be arrested soon as well until I return … according to him, return to rehab.” 

 

She also said: “Imagine the Nigerian police beating up my brother like a criminal. What exactly was the violent arrest for? Ned; 

You have power, connections and money, right? … A hard girl like me is crying.” 

 

She asserted she has “power and reach” and warned that silence wouldn’t always protect her family. 

 

Thus Actress Regina Daniels is actively contesting the narrative, rejecting the drug-abuse claim, rejecting the “return to rehab” condition, and presenting her family as being under pressure and threatened.

Regina’s elder brother, Sammy West  has issued statements:

 

He confirmed he was arrested at Ogombo Police Station, Lekki, and claimed the arrest stemmed from orders by his in-laws, Senator Ned Nwoko 

 

He said: “If anything happens to Regina, Sammy, or Destiny, hold Ned Nwoko responsible. I have never seen a situation where an in-law would sue his wife and her siblings.” 

 

In a prior Instagram post he wrote: “Anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood!” after Regina’s video of alleged violence. 

 

So, the brother has positioned himself as protector of Regina and is publicly challenging the in-law’s actions.

 

 Senator Ned Nwoko’s official response

 

Senator Ned Nwoko has made several statements:

 

He denied being violent toward Regina or any of his other wives, saying: “I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here.” 

 

He found fault on Regina for striking three staff members, destroying property (cars, windows) within 48 hours, and linked her behaviour to substance abuse. 

 

He reiterated that he had offered her rehabilitation options and said that her refusal to comply had worsened their problems. 

 

He has also addressed rumours of a new marriage or wife, and stressed that certain allegations were “fake news”. 

Thus his position is that the marital issues are rooted in Regina’s alleged behaviour and substance abuse, not in his misconduct or abuse.
