Nollywood star lyabo Ojo is not here for any disrespect, especially not when it comes to her daughter, Priscilla Ojo.
The actress recently called out controversial Tanzanian media personality Mange Kimambi, who advised Priscilla and her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, to disappear from social media during Tanzania’s tense political period.
In case you missed it! The loved-up couple tied the knot in what has become one of 2025’s most talked-about celebrity weddings, with multiple ceremonies across Tanzania and Nigeria, leaving fans swooning over the lavish #JP2025 fairytale.
But things took a sharp turn when Mange Kimambi went on Instagram and accused the newlyweds of being a distraction during a time when, according to her, Tanzanians need to focus on “the fight of a lifetime.”
“Tanzania is in a fight for our rights. We don’t need you and Jux to distract our people with stupid content,” Mange wrote, adding that the couple is allegedly aligned with the government’s agenda.
She even threw in a warning, telling Priscilla to keep her man indoors when they head to London and to stay off social media for five months. Yes, five months!

Well, that clearly didn’t sit well with Iyabo Ojo.
In a fiery Instagram clapback, the Nigerian ‘Queen mother’ didn’t hold back, slamming Mange for what she called “audacity” and “intimidation tactics.”
“@mangekimambi80, I’m appalled by your audacity! Calling their content stupid? That’s unacceptable. I’ve raised my daughter to be bold, authentic, and unapologetically herself,” Iyabo wrote.
She further cleared the air on rumors that the wedding was sponsored by the Tanzanian government, saying it was a Nigerian family affair through and through.
“The wedding was financed by us – her family. It’s a cultural tradition. I wanted something elaborate for my daughter and we gave her that. Nigerians gave her that,” she said.
Iyabo, who’s also an outspoken activist, emphasized that activism doesn’t require online bullying or targeting innocent couples who are simply living their lives.
“True leadership requires presence and courage. You live in America yet you’re dictating to my daughter and her husband in Tanzania? Laughable. She’ll post what she likes, when she likes, and how she likes,” Iyabo added, signing off with a warning: “We protect our own.”
The #JP2025 wedding journey has been a social media spectacle, from their traditional Tanzanian ceremony to the civil wedding, glamorous Nigerian reception, and final celebration in Tanzania. With viral clips, stunning outfits, and celeb appearances, Priscilla and Juma Jux’s union has become a trending topic across Africa.
While some fans praised Iyabo for standing up for her family, others criticized Mange for dragging the couple into political discourse.
