
Democrats nominated Joe Biden as their 2020 presidential candidate on Tuesday, offering the Washington veteran as a “man of courage” who would sweep away the “chaos” of four years under Donald Trump.
The nomination came on the second day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) which saw a line-up of past and present Democratic leaders and speakers who supported Biden’s candidature.
“Thank you all, it means the world to me and my family – and I’ll see you on Thursday!” Biden said in a live webcast after the vote was complete.

It means the world to me and my family”, Biden said as he accepted the nomination standing next to his wife. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
He also posted on his tweet that it was the “honour of his life”
He would be campaigning along side his candidate for vice President the Black lady senator Kamala Harris of California.
The two are set to appear together for the first time for a speech Wednesday in Wilmington, Delaware. Biden’s campaign has not yet said what time that speech will take place.
