The Lagos Socialite and billionaire businessman Afam Mallison Ukatu Emmanuel is a certified member of the Institute Of Strategic Management Of Nigeria. Fellow of the Rotary Club International, Fellow of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, (MAN) a member of the Certified Institute of Cost Management of Nigeria (CICM) was nabbed months ago due to his involvement in the disgraceful act of the police officer, Abba Kyari.

Ukatu was detained on a trip to Abuja on Wednesday, April 13 at the MM2 terminal of the Lagos airport, Ikeja.

Earlier, the drug enforcement agency was able to temporarily seize 25 properties that belonged to Ukatu, who was detained for allegedly bringing in tramadol worth N3 billion.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency identified N20 billion in Afam Mallison Ukatu Emmanuel’s 103 bank accounts, which it has frozen (NDLEA).

After his alleged N3 billion tramadol deal with the fired police commissioner, Abba Kyari, the NDLEA began keeping an eye on his actions.

The socialite and his six companies—Fruitroprics Industries Limited, Mallinson and Partners Limited, NISPO Porcelain Company Limited, MBL Multi-links Services Limited, NISPO Oil and Gas Limited, and Urban Space Services Limited—have also been the subject of 23-count charges brought by The NDLEA before the Federal High Court of Abuja.

The Investigations by the NDLEA determined he had been a significant importer of big consignments of various brands and high dosages of Tramadol Hydrochloride, all of which were illegal.

Through his 103 bank accounts and ownership of various pharmaceutical and plastic manufacturing companies, which he used as a front to bring illegal pharmaceuticals into Nigeria, he is also implicated in money laundering.

He was therefore jailed at the Ikoyi detention facility for narcotics selling. In contrast, the N20 billion discovered in his bank accounts has been seized.
